Marcus Smart Learning From His Mistakes; Starts Preparation For NBA Draft

June 23rd, 2014 — 1:35pm

During a sluggish morning in an almost empty gym past week, NBA star Marcus Smart bolted fiercely from the right wing, to grab a pass which was thrown towards him from the opposite side. Once he collected the ball, Marcus dribbled to the left side, turned right over the right shoulder & scored a 3 pointer as he fell out of bounds. He stood up quickly and expressed his anger at a certain invisible referee shouting that the ref has to call that!

This pseudo outburst injected in some quite needed humor into quite a monotonous workout session at the Saint Monica High School, located in Los Angeles. The 6ft 4, 220 pounds NBA star arrived in early April, and recently got over with his sophomore session at Oklahoma State. Smart was put through 2 paces each weekend besides other clients of WMG (Wasserman Media Group). The group consisting of Kyle Anderson- UCLA forward, Joel Embiid- Kansas center and Jahii Carson- Arizona State guard, have been staying together at a housing complex close by.

While they are not working super hard in the gym, they are keeping themselves on their toes to prep for the forthcoming NBA draft, expected to be held in Brooklyn on 26th of June. Another essential phase is expected to occur at the NBA predraft in Chicago, this week.

Smart exclaimed after a good workout session that he is very excited and the only time that he has been to Chicago is for McDonald’s All-American game. He further added that, all he wishes to do is go right in there, stay as calm as he can and just have fun. He seems all excited about the upcoming NBA draft saying that is a new ballgame all together, it is more like a business and one has to be an absolute professional at it.

Smart just turned twenty on 6th of March, and pretty much like any sportsman at his age, he is merely in a work in progress stage. Although physically he looks fit for NBA, however few shortcomings were revealed during his session at Oklahoma.
